Semi-Dense Phase Pneumatic Conveying for Long Distance Material Transport

The Clyde D-Pump is a robust, semi-dense-phase pneumatic conveying system designed for the reliable transport of bulk powders and fine dusts over long conveying distances.

Using Clyde's proven SMART modulating Dome Valve technology, the D-Pump precisely controls the discharge of material into the conveying pipeline. This allows the system to regulate solids loading and maintain stable conveying conditions throughout the pipeline.

In semi-dense phase conveying mode, the D-Pump provides an excellent balance between conveying distance, system flexibility, and throughput, making it particularly suitable for demanding industrial applications across the cement, minerals, energy, and process industries.

By combining controlled material discharge with Clyde's low-velocity conveying philosophy, the D-Pump delivers high reliability, reduced pipeline wear, and lower operating costs compared with conventional dilute-phase conveying systems.

How the D-Pump Works

Material enters the pressure vessel from upstream equipment such as hoppers, air slides or screw feeders. Once the vessel is filled, it is pressurised with conveying air.

The SMART modulating Dome Valve outlet controls the discharge of material into the pipeline. By adjusting the valve position, the system regulates the solids-to-air ratio, ensuring stable pipeline flow.

This controlled discharge creates a semi-dense phase conveying regime, allowing efficient material transport over long distances while maintaining reliable pipeline operation.
