The Clyde Terminal Box provides a simple, robust and space-efficient solution for terminating pneumatic conveying pipelines at receiving silos or process vessels.
Designed for demanding industrial environments, the Terminal Box redirects the conveying pipeline through 90° using a heavy-duty internal deflector plate, allowing the pipeline to enter the silo tangentially while keeping installation height to a minimum.
Compared with traditional long-radius pipeline bends, the Clyde Terminal Box offers a much lower installation profile, reducing the need for structural supports and making it ideal for installations where multiple pipelines terminate into a single silo.
Its simple construction, replaceable wear components, and compact footprint make it a reliable and easy-to-maintain pipeline termination solution for dense-phase pneumatic conveying systems.
How the Terminal Box Works
Material conveyed through the pneumatic pipeline enters the Terminal Box, where an internal deflector plate redirects the flow at 90 °.
This deflection slows and redirects the conveyed material into the receiving silo while protecting the pipeline from excessive wear at the termination point.
The internal deflector plate is easily replaceable, allowing worn components to be changed quickly when handling abrasive materials.
Key Features
- Low Profile Design: Enables tangential pipeline entry into the silo while keeping pipeline height and supports to a minimum.
- Simple Construction: Robust design with easy access through a bolted inspection hatch.
- Replaceable Wear Parts: The internal deflector plate can be replaced when worn.
- Heavy Duty Construction: Internals are manufactured from durable cast iron.
- Wide Size Range: Available for pipeline sizes from DN50 to DN500.
- Inspection Access: The top hatch allows quick inspection and maintenance.
Key Benefits
- Low Installation Height: Pipelines can enter the silo at a lower elevation.
- Extremely Reliable: Simple mechanical design with minimal components.
- Compact and Lightweight: Easy installation and minimal structural support required.
- Easy Maintenance: Direct access to wear components through inspection hatch.
- Multi-Line Configuration: A compact footprint allows several pipelines to terminate at a single silo.
The compact design makes the Terminal Box particularly useful when multiple conveying pipelines feed the same silo, where available roof space is limited.
Custom Wear Protection Options
For abrasive materials, the Terminal Box can be supplied with enhanced wear protection.
- Ni-Hard Deflector Plate Lining: Suitable for abrasive mineral products.
- Ceramic Deflector Plate Lining: Maximum wear protection for highly abrasive materials.
These wear protection options significantly extend component life and reduce maintenance requirements.
